kubuntuforums.net on an official canonical server

Ubuntuforums was actually itself first owned by an individual who later transferred the ownership to canonical. Why can't the same be done for this forum; currently it actually runs on a Win 2003 server and that's not correct for a linux forum!

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .... did Canonical volunteer to operate it? Are YOU volunteering to operate it on a Linux server? What I mean is, I'd like Canonical to wash my car and take out my garbage every Wednesday too, but I don't think voting for that is going to make it happen.

OS has been doing a great job for us, and he didn't happen to find a hosting service that guaranteed a Linux server. Too bad -- I wish it were, but it's not important enough to dump the present arrangement, in my humble opinion.

kubuntuforums.net on an official canonical server
Hmm - what value would that give to us ?

      Now > Kubuntu.org >> Community and Support:
      Forums

      * Kubuntu Forums is your help on the web for Kubuntu.
      * Ubuntu Forums also has some Kubuntu areas.
      * Kubuntu Way Forums is another forum on the web for Kubuntu support.

Why i'm using this forum and not the (Canonized ) Ubuntu Forums ( earlier > Topic: Ubuntu forums vs kubuntuforums):

      + This is Kubuntu/KDE centric
+ Freedom of speech ( > Topic: Forbidden Topics ?).
+ Here the moderators are friendly persons.

      Earlier (March 20th, 2005) > Request: a Kubuntu forum
      Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?
      1. Thread: Please explain how to access old kubuntu forum posts
      2. Thread: Lost Information

          Meh.

I'm a n00b here myself but I kinda like smallish forums anyway.

Ubuntu forums is a zoo. You know what I'm talking about if you've ever tried to (1) get help there, or (2) serve as a helper there. A lot of good work gets done @ubuntu, some of the best Linux people around, but to know that you first must dig through the 80% nonsense/noise/bull**** over there. The way the kubuntuforums looks, feels, and runs is a prime reason most of us are here. What is it with posters here who keep posting all this nonsense about how we should be like them?
