I just got VOIP installed in my house. I went with Sun Rocket and so far everything has been good. My only complaint is that when dialing from my school with just the 7 digit number, I get a fast busy signal. From what I hear the prefix may not be programmed in my school's switch yet. Otherwise, it works great. $16.88 per month when you buy a year subscription. You also get two free Uniden phones, or at least you did when I signed up. Click here if you want to use my referral and type 2178199050 in the box that says use promotional code. Let me know how other VOIP services are. Also does anyone know how to get super cheap calling from USA to Kenya?

followup on sunrocket
I have had sunrocket for about a month now and it has been down a couple of times. It hasn't been that bad, however, as with any phone you would like it to always be available. But I guess thats why I have a cell phone. All in all its cheap and whenever I get a voice message it tells me through email and through yahoo messenger, which is nice.

VOIP Service
About VOIP i used to use Skype, but few times ago I discover Gizmo Project - quite good VOIP application, competible with SIP protocol.
Now, for linux, only 0.8 alpha debian package is avaliable - but I testing it and works just fine (from download site you must download booth additional packages too) - I'm waiting for full version
Not like in skype - using SIP protocol means that you can connect between any other application/device compatuble with SIP
Only disadvantages (for me) is that calls out on from my PC to phone are cheaper in skype. And in gizmo are only few US phone number zones for incomming calls...

Re: VOIP Service
I accept had sunrocket for about a ages now and it has been down a brace of times. It hasn't been that bad, however, as with any buzz you would like it to consistently be available. But I assumption thats why I accept a corpuscle phone. All in all its bargain and whenever I get a articulation bulletin it tells me through email and through beast messenger, which is nice.

Re: VOIP Service
VoipSipSdk
I am now looking for voip solutions. And found information about Voip sdk.
According to their website www.voipsipsdk.com
Voip sdk is based on IETF standards (SIP, STUN, etc.), so it should be compatible with other standard based products such as Asterisk, OpenSER other.
They have all features I need:
# Dynamically loadable codecs
# Registrar support
# Play wav files into conversation
# Record conversation into file
# Hold/Retrieve call
# Forward Call (Blind Call Transfer)
# Transfer Call (Attended Transfer)
# Mute Sound
# VPN support
# Noise reduction
# Auto gain
# Jitter buffer parameters
# Samples on Delphi, C#, VB, VB.NET, C++ 2005, C++ 6.0, HTML (SIP ActiveX)
# Windowless samples on C++ and .NET
# DTMF
# Adaptive silence detection
# Adaptive jitter buffer
# STUN support
# Comes as ActiveX control
But before I will download the evaluation version I would like to hear other people experience.
