Blue is my favorite color. And it's certainly better than the browns and such of ubuntu gnome. Although I do like the cool Heron art the have.

However, I live on the coast of Oregon, USA and take lots of beach pictures. So, the first thing I do is put up one of these as wallpaper. Don't really care what comes with the distro. 8)

Greetings from Guelph. Why not go to KDELook.org and check out Kubuntu Dark? I think it is a cool wallpaper, and outs the Kubuntu name right on your desktop?

Why boring? Yes, bird from Ubuntu is more interesting, but... I think, that Kubuntu's wallpaper isn't boring. It's relax

I voted "boring" too -- it looks like some kind of polyester corduroy to me. But really it's just a matter of taste -- there's no reason to think 3 people would ever agree on what is "beautiful".

The "Image Gallery" (see the menu on top of this page) is a good place to post your desktop screenshots. Here's what I came up with back in February when I first set up HH Alpha with KDE4.000whatever and Compiz:

I really like it. It's "quiet" and doesn't clash with any of my icons.
I'd love to be able to use the same design on each desktop, but with a change of colour.
Any Idea how to do that?

I don't like that kind of blue. Some lighter color would be nicer, something like the background of this forum or some sky blue. But it really doesn't matter, I like to use my own wallpapers.

Install GIMP, open the wallpaper image in it, click the Colors menu and choose Colorfy (6th from bottom). This will show a grayscale preview and you can select the color you want it to use.
