    Pidgin Instant Messenger

    Hi Everyone

I play on a few yahoo leagues and get links on Pidgin Instand Messenger, when I click a link,I get this message:

    Unable to open URL

The 'Manual' browser command has been chosen, but no command has been set.

How do I set a command?

    Thanks in advance

You mean you need a package, or you mean you get this after install?
If the first, sudo apt-get pidgin works fine here...
Of the latter, never used yahoo, works fine with gmail here.

Which browser do you have installed?

If you have Firefox and Konqueror installed, those should be available to select in the drop down list in your preferences. You'll go to your preferences panel, go to the browser tab, and there should be a drop down list labeled "Browser:" and you'll have that set to manual right now. Look and see if your browser of choice is available in this list (my install sees Konqueror and Firefox, and I have Firefox selected).

If you only have manual as an option, you should be able to type in whichever command you execute in the konsole to open your browser of choice. (example: Firefox would just be "firefox") If you're unsure what command opens your browser, you can check by opening your k-menu, navigating to your browser of choice, and right clicking to select "Edit Item". In the k-menu editor, it'll have a field that says command when it opens the menu item entry, that's what you'll want to copy into the text field labeled Manual: in your pidgin preference settings.

I found the solution to my problem:

        Click Tools on Pidgin Messenger
        then click Preferences
        then click Browser tab
        then in Browser Selection:
Browser: Click down tab and select Konqueror
then for Open link in: click down tab and select Browser default
        problem solved

        Thank You for the help
