    Humor: Classifying the online community

    Dibles (genus)

    Scientific classification

    Kingdom: Animalia
    Phylum: Chordata
    Subphylum: Vertebrata
    Class: Mammalia
    Order: Theria
    Suborder: Haplorrhini
    Family: Operatissystematia
    Subfamily: Linuxi
    Tribe: Ubuntusia
    Subtribe: Gutsiati
    Genus: Dibles
    Species: Kubuntu Veteranis

    Description
The exact description of the dibles (common name 'dibl') has yet to be settled upon. When originally discovered, the dibl could be described as similar to any number of like mammalia of germanic origins. The dibl may have chameleon like abilities, as recent confirmed sightings describe an older, hairier appearance. The dibl is very quick. Its presence generally precedes what can only be described as 'gifts' which seem to be eagerly awaited by other mammalia linuxi.

    Natural history
The typical dibl is found frequenting gatherings of other mammilia linuxi.

    Classifiction
Official classification remains hotly contested. Until such time as consensus is reached, official classification is on hold.

      Dibles Prolificus (genus)

      Scientific classification

      Kingdom: Animalia
      Phylum: Chordata
      Subphylum: Vertebrata
      Class: Mammalia
      Order: Theria
      Suborder: Haplorrhini
      Family: Operatissystematia
      Subfamily: Linuxi
      Tribe: Ubuntusia
      Subtribe: Lucidia Lynxiata
      Genus: Dibles Prolificus
      Species: Kubuntu Veteranisia

      Description
The Dibles Prolificus was discovered on May 14, 2010. Believed to be the first of its kind,
and the first, direct metomorphisis of an existing speci (Dibles) to another, ever observed.
A quick review of existing data on such metomorphisis found no previous observations.

What makes the Dibles Prolificus different from its antecedent, is the shear volume of its 'gifts.'
Although similar to the Dibles, the Dibles Prolificus is truly unique. It is believed by this observer,
that the Dibles Prolificus is an evolutionary 'quantum leap' never before seen in a living species.
Fossil records exists that suggested such quantum leaps in evolutionary development have occurred in
the distant past, but until now, the evidence was hotly contested.

      Natural history
The Dibles Prolificus, like its antecedent, is found frequenting gatherings of other mammilia linuxi.
The verdant expanses of the Kubuntuforums midlands seems to be its preferred habitat.

      Classifiction
Official classification, unlike that of the Dibles, is on an acceptance 'fast track' by the scientific community.
