Hello. Had used Kubuntu on two boxes when it first branched from Ubuntu, way back when. I moved on, and now I'm back. Back then I was a raw newbie, but have since gained and learned, installing and using several distros. I developed a preference for KDE, although Gnome is fine; I just feel more comfortable using KDE.
Installed Kubuntu 7.04 with no touble whatsoever. Hardware configuration was spot on (screen resolution, sound, internet...etc). Too lazy to install the codecs and other applications myself (I've done it before), so went with Automatix, also with no effort or problems. The entire process took about 45 minutes, which included installing Opera (another thing I really prefer). My sole "issue" yet to resolve is getting my printer to work, which I don't consider a major problem.
I like Kubuntu. I like it alot. I can recommend it for about anyone. No "tickering" required, Everything works and not a single complaint. It's a keeper and I intend to use it.
