    Shuttle SK22G2

Bare bones Kubuntu 6.10 installation was uneventful. I am just beginning to exercise this machine. First impressions are good. Onboard video is sluggish, but is fine if you plan only to administer the box or have simple graphics needs. I will remote desktop to it, so it should meet my needs. Otherwise, I recommend a graphics cards. Your mileage may vary.

    Hardware specs:
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor 4200+ Socket AM2 (65W)
    Corsair CM2X1024-6400PRO 2x1GB DDR2-800 XMS2-6400 ProSeries Memory w/Platinum Heat Spreader
    Plextor PX-760A
Seagate Momentus 7200.1 100GB Serial ATA 7200RPM Hard Drive w/8MB Buffer
    Intel PRO/1000 PT Desktop PCIe

I was correct about the performance of remote desktop on Edgy. Graphics performance, on a 1GB network, is much better than local access. However, I can only get this kind of performance from commercial solutions, such as Reflection, MKS or Hummingbird. Cygwin just doesn't perform well enough.

Local performance became acceptably better on Fiesty.
