    Anyone using Waydroid on Kubuntu?

I attempted to get Waydroid installed on Kubuntu but the result is unstable, on both 24.04 and 24.10. 'Trebuchet keeps stopping', mouse pointer is not a mouse pointer, etc. The only requirement seems to be a Wayland session. Works fine on Ubuntu. Anyone using it? Maybe I'll try Neon?
EDIT: Nope. Same problem with Neon.
BTW I have an Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card, driver = nouveau, and XDG_SESSION_TYPE = wayland

Neon is Ubuntu 24.04 so waydroid should act in a similar manner on the exact same hardware. I don't see any difference myself, even considering that neon is plasma 6 and Kubuntu is plasma 5.
I've been using it for few years, but only casually to occasionally. It had not always been stable, but the pair year or so I've had zero issues.

So, I removed my Nvidia GTX 1060 and Waydroid works well on my onboard graphics.

I watch IPTV from my Mibox connected to my TV in the lounge, so watching on my desktop is desired sometimes when the grandkids want to watch something on the TV.

Waydroid runs normally on Ubuntu 24.04 with the 1060 card. Any suggestions or settings for the Nvidia on KDE? Let me try a few Nvidia drivers?

I am triple booting Ubuntu 24.04, Neon and Windows 11 to be able to watch IPTV.

I have no idea when it comes to Nvidia I don't think that they actually support it at all.. A few years ago (20.04 era), even AMD graphics had issues. For me, waydroid would not run at all back then on that machine.

No issues since around 22.04 era kernels and Waydroid. Nowdays, I only have Intel graphics on both PC and laptop.
Some folks on their subreddit mention scripts or prime-select to make it use the iGPU in recent months.

I installed Nvidia-driver-550 on KDE Neon and waydroid is working.

I then uninstalled the Nvidia driver and went back to Nouveau and waydroid is still working.

Was there some compelling reason you are using Nouveau? The official nvidia driver is much more compatible with everything, especially cuda and 3d. You are missing half the functionality your GPU offers, not to mention speed.

More for getting waydroid up and running, but I am back on the Nvidia driver again. Definitely quicker and smoother.
