    Wi-Fi Not Working

    Hello! I have an old laptop and I never had problems ... this time I am having this problem:

    Kubuntu 24.10:

    [31. 490891] b43-phy ERROR: Firmware file "b43/code15. fu" not found

    It's somethijng related to Wi-Fi and It does not work on 22.04.05 either

    Is it a bug that will be fixed? How can I be sure It's not an hardware issue?

    Thanks!

    How old? What make and model? What are it's specifications?
    Windows no longer obstructs my view.

        You probably need one of these or both:

        $ apt-cache search Firmware-b43
        firmware-b43-installer - firmware installer for the b43 driver
        firmware-b43legacy-installer - firmware installer for the b43legacy driver

          Thank you! I will try with ethernet then but It's not an easy task to bring this PC near my router! Do you think It's a bug or just old hardware ?

            Old hardware in combination with a manufacturer that does not support Linux. Broadcom has been a thorn in the side of Linux users for decades. A software bug is when a piece of software isn't working as it should. Not having a driver installed is a user bug, lol
