Headphone / Speakers - how to change default from Headphones to Speakers

On my system I have headphones plugged in all the time but I don't always use the headphones. The system always resets to Headphones and mutes the Speakers but I'd like the default to be Line Out (Speakers) Enabled with Headphones muted. When looking in Pipewire I see the same default sinks whether I'm set to Headphones or Speakers

Does anyone know where the Default is stored or how it changes when I click Headphone or Line Out (Speakers) in Audio Settings?

On taskbar click on sound icon. Look at the device that you want to be the default. In the right of the name there are 3 lines. Click on it and click on " Play all audio via this device " . That is all.

Because it is the same sink for the headphone jack and the speaker output. The jack sensor tells the audio system that headphones are plugged in and cuts off the speakers. the Alsa driver might not be capable of allowing for separate control as if they were two separate devices, or maybe there is a bug in the driver/configuration.

I tried Virginio's solution and between that and changing the profile from Pro Audio to Analog Stereo Output I was able to get what I wanted.

Ahhh, if I had known that, I'd have had you switch.
I have yet to comer across an audio device that actually worked properly, or at all, using "pro". granted, I have no "pro" hardware.
It *almost* *sometimes* *maybe* tries to work on Bluetooth devices that support a ton of different protocols and formats.
