KDE does not remember keyboard layout

    Hello

I'm testing Kubuntu 24.10 fresh install on old Surface Laptop 3 (Intel) and have issue with KDE keyboard layout. From System Settings -> Keyboard -> Layout I delete "us" and add "fi" -> keyboard works fine during session, but when I logout, reboot or shutdown, layout always reverts back to "us". How I make my desired layout persistent?

Having the same issue Kubuntu 24.10, keyboard layout always resets back to "us" after new session. Tried making /etc/default/keyboard read only, but does not help. settings are correct in that file but are not applied. Issue started few days ago.

Probably something to do with Wayland and I think I activated fcitx5 package since KDE was asking for it. If I right click input methods from taskbar -> configure -> I get fcitx configuration and this setting seems to persist/overwrite keyboard settings in KDE settings.

that works for me too, thanks. i remember having set up my keyboard through that ui before, but i guess it lost its conf with some update.
