Can't view 7z archives in Ark

I can't view any 7z archives using Ark anymore. This worked fine in Kubuntu 23.10, but since upgrading to 24.04 I can no longer do so.

If I open an existing 7z archive, Ark displays the error "The archive is empty or Ark could not open its content." If I use Ark to create a new 7z archive, any files I add into it simply do not display (but the archive will be successfully created, and the files can be extracted using other means).

Yet the files are there and the archive can be extracted just fine using "Extract" from Dolphin's context menu. It's just Ark that won't display the archive's contents.

Does this affect anyone else? Trying to make sure I'm not missing something obvious.

    Is "7zip" installed?

7zip supports high compression ratio in 7z format with LZMA and LZMA2 compression. Supported formats: 7z, xz, bzip2, gzip, tar, zip.

    "7zip" provides:
/usr/bin/7z: Full featured with plugin functionality.
    /usr/bin/7za: Major formats/features only.
/usr/bin/7zr: LZMA (.7z, .lzma, .xz) only. Minimal executable.

Alternatively there is "arqiver". Arqiver is able to extract, create and modify archives which are managed by its backends. It can open archives with drag-and-drop operations. With 7z it also handles password protection.

Thanks, but yes, 7zip is installed. Dolphin, for instance, can extract and compress 7zip files via its context menu. Arquiver does work as well, and properly displays the contents (the UI isn't as nice as Ark, but it works and properly displays a 7z archive's contents). Just tried to open a 7zip file with Ark from a default Kubuntu 24.04 image: same problem, so it's probably not something weird I did but a bug.

Just found the relevant bugs. Not sure when the fix will land in Kubuntu.
