Tried installing kubuntu-24.04.1-desktop-amd64.iso on a VMware vm, and got "Main script file /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/calamares/modules/bootloader/main.py for python job bootloader raised an exception".
Other Linux distros including Kubuntu 22.04, Debian, openSUSE install with no such issue.
It seems that the Calamares installer relies on the machine having "/dev/disk/by-id", which is not present on the VM.
I did some internet searching, but none seems to mention the "/dev/disk/by-id" directory missing. Can someone shed some light on this?
