    unable to update

    I have Kubuntu 22.04, and last week I received a notification that 24.04 was available. I tried to update and got a message that just said something failed, but the message area was completely empty.

    Currently when I try this it indicates that I still have 22.04:

    Code:
    $ uname -a
    Linux bluebeard 6.8.0-40-generic #40~22.04.3-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Tue Jul 30 17:30:19 UTC 2 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

    but it now indicates that no update is available:
    Code:
    $ pkexec do-release-upgrade -m desktop -f DistUpgradeViewKDE
    Checking for a new Ubuntu release
    There is no development version of an LTS available.
    To upgrade to the latest non-LTS development release
    set Prompt=normal in /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades.

    I have no logs, either:
    Code:
    $ ls -l /var/log/dist-upgrade/
    total 0

    I'm not sure what happened or how to run the update.

    I can't find it 'now', but earlier today I saw a Reddit post about 24.04 being put on hold due to a serious bug that was discovered. The file that lets the system know that an upgrade to 24.04 is available has had that version removed for now.
