Update failed with no output

When trying to upgrade from 23 to 24, a window "Update Failed - KDE Daemon" (kde5) pops up, showing "Upgrade failed with the following output:" and nothing in the box.

This should tell the user to run adb full-upgrade or do this itself.

This issue seems to exist since at least 22.

It is always better to run a release-upgrade in the Konsole terminal emulator for more output - hopefully more details of you error would be shown there too.

Found out how to do that a few minutes ago.
Though it is really confusing not to have an output in the update process, though it is the first thing shown to update.

Hi there, I had the same thing occur. Being new ,I too am not sure how to upgrade from a terminal. Can you share where you read up on how to do that?

Open the Konsole terminal emulator and enter

• sudo apt update
• sudo apt full-upgrade

Possibly reboot the system.

• sudo do-release-upgrade -m desktop
