Installing in VirtualBox on Windows 11 causes kernel panic

I'm assuming it's a kernel panic, anyway. suffice to say that it gives me a blue error screen and forces a reboot everytime i try to boot the livecd in VirtualBox. not sure what's going on. I have Hyper-V turned off because i heard it causes problems with VirtualBox. any advice helps, thanks.

    Welcome to KFN.

To be clear, you are trying to install Kubuntu 24.04 Noble Numbat (LTS) as a virtual machine using VirualBox on a PC running Windows 11?

Which VirtualBox are you using? I use the one from Oracle (not the VirtualBox available via the Ubuntu Repositories).

LiveCD? You don't (I don't) do that. I point to the desired .ISO.

Please describe the steps you are taking/took to create the VM you are trying to boot from.
