Installer doesnt detect external HDD

I have a usb hard drive that is plugged in but when i run the installer it doesnt show up as a drive i can install to even though the system recognizes it in dolphin?

Can you see the files in Dolphin? Is it an SSD that is greater than 2 TB? Some older motherboards can not boot from an SSD greater than 2 TB. There may be a port on your MOBO than can.

Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.
