Any newbie questions about the 24.04.2 update

Greetings community, recently I decided to manually update to the new kernel since it supposedly should have arrived in the specific update 24.04.2, the generic kernel 6.8 was recently updated. My question is, will having both have an effect? Thank you for your time.

Nope. You can very safely have multiple kernels installed at the same time. Most distros have it set up to only keep the few most recent ones around.

The original kernel is still fully supported and updated for the life of the LTS release.

Server installs and early installs of LTS stay on this original kernel unless the "HWE" metapackage is installed.

If you don't already have the 6.11 you may need to add this manually, but it isn't required or necessary if you are fine where you are.

I was just thinking about asking this... My pc wont boot. rescue boot just freezes I cant even scroll down to dpkg repair or root-something. and when it did sort of work it complained and wanted to remove 300mb of 6.8.0-52
I think The to rescue image read 6.8.0-54 and I had about 5 or 6 all a few numbers different
