Mint to Kubuntu switch ALSO upgrded to Zbook

For years ran Mint I'm new to Kubuntu and Plasma ALSO running on a Z Book The first thing I think i need to know is how to reset the plasma desktop!! I went to using it suddenly i hit a key and the location, size and configuration changed. Now I was on "X" at the time. When that these changes happened. If you think it is simply an "X" issue I understand but what I'm curious about right now is getting back to where I started!

There is a sledgehammer method, but if you can be more specific on what changed, we might have a simpler way to get things back
    Location of what?
    Size of what?
    Configuration of what?

Do you remember what key(s) you think you might have hit?

If it was just a keystroke, then it may be only one thing that needs to be changed.

No, Kubuntu 24.04 defaults to xorg anyway.

But the first place to go to is System Settings. there is an option to show settings that have changed. You can look at these, then use the "Defaults" button to reset each back to a stock KDE setting.

But I am sure there may be things that aren't going to show in System Settings, so this might not do the trick. But most likley it will.

I really don't know what I hit!!! I just took off like i was still on mint!! All kinds of things changed all of a sudden. Also i thought I'd better ask about my secret weapon. I use a blue tooth key board that I really like so I'm curious if that might introduce some instability!! I think the Xeon is fast, but slow as I am i got ahead of it and just had to wait on it at one point!! I really appreciate the tip on KDE settings I'll let you know what happens.. I'm astounded that Arizona and NSW can be in the same conversation!!

My buddy who is pretty sharp and got me going on Mint years ago tried 2 or 3 times install mint but it just wouldn't take on the Zbook!! bye

Mint is mostly Ubuntu LTS as an OS, so if your KB worked there, it should be the same in Ubuntu/Kubuntu

Once you have hit your third post, you should be able to post screenshots of what you see, which should give us a better clue. Highlight the differences.

My brother lives in Mesa, though he teaches at the University of Arizona in Tucson. I lived in Tucson for a few months back in 198-something-something-old-something.

well clearly there is an issue with the Anker bluetooth key board and or it's signal. I was working lastnight and the page just completely froze, I could neither save nor ad anything. I finally I began saving other office docs around it!! Doing (nothing graphically, no video) Then I could save it as it was. I really don't want to lose it. We then installed a fresh 24.04 and that was what is running right now!!

That is my biggest request!! The Anker bluetooth keyboard model # A7726 is what I prefer to use1 I'd like to see if i can get it so that it doesn't develop issues half way through a project!! I was only doing some incredibly ordinary word processing when it froze

well.......IT'S NOT THE BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD.....I got the same "lockup" behavior while running the original laptop key board only. I just have to save some of the writing I've completed then it behaves normally!!

So at this point I'll be using the bluetooth keyboard with abandon!! I'm faster on it and the secondary keys that adjust volume and other things are located better!! Besides there is another advantage in that if I eat something and get crumbs in it I don't have worry about compromising the keyboard function on the laptop!!

It's pulled anther stunt!! Several documents just disappeared! Their headers were there making it look completely In there place was a statement that "so and so document is not here"! Well I'm here to report that many of them have returned!! I haven't used the bluetooth keyboard in serveral days!! I went looking for a one of the "disappeared" documents so I could give you an exact quote!! Couldn't find one!! Still can't!! It seems that everything has returned!! GOT NO CLUE?
