    Monitor black after sleep

So I've been running a 3 monitor setup for quite a few years now. I recently bought an MSI G274QPX 27 Inch WQHD. I've installed it as the primary, central monitor. It displays the bios screen and grub menu on boot. Both in Kubuntu 24.04 and Kubuntu 23.10 when I press a key to bring the desktop out of sleep, a light comes on under the monitor, but while the other 2 monitors come back to life, the MSI shows a no Display Port message after a few seconds and goes back to sleep. When I check the display in settings, it only shows 2 monitors connected. A reboot restores all 3 monitors to the original configuration.

There don't seem to be any problems running Windows 10. I'm thinking the next move might be to make an Ubuntu install to see if I get the same problem in Gnome.

As a workaround, is it possible to switch connections around? (If their arrangement is then incorrect, system settings can rearrange things.)

(I bought a similar, non-gaming, MSI 1440p monitor, and it was so good for the price I got another. Before I got the second, I would occasionally have the problem.)

If I switch the power off to the monitor and switch it back on again, the correct set up for all three monitors comes back. I've tried it now in Kubuntu 24.10 and I get the same problem. For me its pretty much every time it comes out of sleep, so I think I'll have to send it back and get something else, avoiding MSI.

Not an ideal solution, but I'm wondering if you can use xrandr to reset the monitor from the command line....
