Hello, I have an Nvidia 4090 running driver version 550.107.02.
When I boot or reboot I see the bios screens and can get to grub, but once it gets to the desktop it's just a black screen. The system is up and running though, as I can swap the HDMI cable to the motherboard and everything works fine. I can then swap back to the GPU and everything is normal. But the system is so unstable (24.04, frequently the screen will just freeze. ctl-alt-f7 goes to a black screen, no console, and ctl-alt-f2 will reload the desktop. But occasionally that doesn't work and I have to force power off at the box) that I end up having to reboot every few days. Swapping the HDMI cable several times per reboot is extremely inconvenient.
Does anyone have any suggestions for where I should look to start debugging? Thanks!
