I need Windows 11 back for College.

Good evening. I replaced Windows 11 with Kubuntu.
Now, I need to reinstall Windows 11 for college. I have given up trying to dualboot. I have exhausted everything I have found to do. Nothing has worked. Please help. I need sleep.

More info, please! This stinks, for sure, but we do need to know more in order to see if we can help. We have zero idea of what you have done or tried, what sort of setup you have, or what is not working, or where it is failing.

Two things: if you have a laptop, and only one drive, you need to install Windows first, THEN reinstall Kubuntu. It may not be 100% necessary these days, but it IS a LOT easier, even considering that you wipe out Kubuntu.

the other thing: you might also consider VirtualBox, VMware or Virt-manager and run Windows that way.

Are you sure you need Windows? Most people think you have to have Windows for college but Kubuntu has software that can do most of what you need it's just that most people don't know how to set it up like Windows. LibreOffice calc is similar to Excel it just defaults to saving in the Opendoc format which was voted by the UN a few years ago as the international document standard but it can also save in Excel format, the same as the wordprocessor can save in docx format or any other version of Microsoft Word. Find a Linux user group at your college and ask for help. They can configure any Linux version. It would only take a few minutes.
Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

You would need the installation disk or USB key of Win 11.
Most brand name desktops and laptops don’t come with an installation disc or USB key.
They make a hidden partition that is used for restoring your Windows. You would have to check their website for help.

Someone had a HP laptop and Win 10 was messed up. I could not restore it.
I downloaded the Win 10 ISO and burned it to a USB stick.
        I used Windows 10 download 2019.05.iso
        It is 4.0 GB.
I used WoeUSB on Kubuntu to create the USB stick and it worked.

WoeUSB is old and it did not work with the latest Win 10 ISO. I think this is because the new ISO is 5.2 GB.

The alternative is to make the USB stick on a working Windows using MS instructions.

Another alternative is to run VirtualBox and install Windows in that. That way, you get to keep Kubuntu.
The downside: It will be slow. Transferring files from the VM to your real machine is... well, you have to put some effort into it.

Once you have a USB key installer, keep it in a safe place.
