I got it to boot after 6 installation attempts. Now I have no audio as in no devices, 23..10 detected them so something is wrong.

Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

I went audio in settings and it detected the devices. Apparently, the installer needs tweaking.Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

I really don't think this is/was the fault of the Calamares installer (in fact I consider this very unlikely…).
In case you e.g. use an "old" /home for a new installation (of a newer version of the same distribution or of another distribution) it is very likely that old user settings and cache files can cause something like this on the other hand.Debian KDE & LXQt • Kubuntu & Lubuntu • openSUSE KDE • Windows • macOS X
Desktop: Lenovo ThinkCentre M75s • Laptop: Apple MacBook Pro 13" • and others
get rid of Snap script (20.04 +) • reinstall Snap for release-upgrade script (20.04 +)
install traditional Firefox script (22.04 +) • install traditional Thunderbird script (24.04)
