UEFI dbx won't update to 20241101

    Hello everyone
I'm dual booting Windows 11 and Kubuntu 24.04 on my DELL laptop. Everyday I see this update notification about UEFI dbx, but no matter how many time I click update and restart, this one update notification won't go away. Does this problem happen to anyone else?
    Thank you.

    Yes, I think so!
It happens to me (using 22.04).
Also, searching this forum on uefi dbx, you'll get hits, like:
    https://www.kubuntuforums.net/search...UEFI+dbx%22%7D

Now, frankly, I can't recall what exactly I concluded about this quite awhile ago. Except, maybe, that the update I needed (on my ASUS motherboard) was only provided by Windows, or some-such dealy.
I don't worry about that message I get all the time, even upon re-booting (on a dark screen, upper left corner).

I'm headed in another direction at the moment (got some meeting in the morning), and so don't have time to dig further.
But you might have a look at some of those hits, including a thread I started at one time.

I don't think this is a serious matter for everyone. Not for me, anyway. Apparently!

This is a semi-common issue across distros, and happens every now and again.

      Might be useful:

Also, if one dual boots Windows, this may well be part of any Windows updates offered there.

worth checking in the BIOS to see if you have "CSM compatibility mode" turned on or set.

        from the man page link

        https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/wiki/...ag:legacy-bios

also there are settings in discover for firmware updates you can turn off if you don't need them.
