[RESOLVED] Wayland session with 2.5 screens? Semifunctional screen via TB4 dock.

My laptop seems to try to be that statistical animal, with exactly 2.5 screens, sorry, for the joke.

Odd thing on my Kubuntu 24.04 system:

    hardware:
    Lenovo T16 G3 U7 155U + Thinkpad Thunderbolt 4 Dock
    Plasma wayland session

    Code:
    andreas@dogmatix:~$ lsb_release -a
    No LSB modules are available.
    Distributor ID: Ubuntu
    Description: Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS
    Release: 24.04
    Codename: noble
    andreas@dogmatix:~$ uname -a
    Linux dogmatix 6.11.0-17-generic #17~24.04.2-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Mon Jan 20 22:48:29 UTC 2 x86_64
    x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

One external screen attached directly to the HDMI port on the laptop, one attached to the HDMI port of the dock, one attached to the DP of the dock. Laptop lid is closed.

Now in the Settings app, 3 screens show up. See Screens as seen in the settings app

Now in the Edit Panel/Panels & Desktop view, only TWO screens show up:

    Panels & Desktops

The irritating thing is, the middle screen has no right click menu, no background, I cannot create widgets on it. The only thing I can do is drag windows to it.

    Funny thing.

    Any ideas?

    Andreas

Sigh, guess posting about helps, one reboot, and the persistent problem that bothered me for months is gone,

A kernel upgrade happened this past week, which gains Noble users Oracular's 6.11

aka better Thunderbolt support maybe, but then again, you seem to already have rebooted since you got that.

      But glad it works now.
