Touchpad doesn't work, even when enabled

My wife's laptop touchpad does nothing, even though I have it enabled in settings with all the desired options. I installed 24.04.1 on it weeks ago but she only just told me about it. She uses a wireless mouse usually.

    I tried disabling/re-enabling the touchpad.
    Tried rebooting.
    Removed the mouse transceiver. Nothing.

The touchpad just refuses to work.

Any suggestions on what to check or how to fix?

Didn't work, but thanks for the suggestion. (isn't that usually the full screen trigger? Never knew it could do other things.)
