I transferred the SSDs so I wouldn't have to reinstall everything. Now I find some games don't work right. Is the kernel still set up for the primary machine and maybe that is why some games are failing? If so then is there a way to fix this without having to reinstall Noble Numbat? Maybe delete some config files so the kernel recreates them for the proper MoBo?

Video card differences?
What do you mean "don't work right"?
Maybe, and very likley, the older card is simply not up to the task.
You have given us zero information to go by (hint hint, nudge nudge, )
It is the difference in video cards and the driver (if Nvidia)
I have transferred drives between intel gpu and AMD fairly often, including from desktop to laptop, and vice versa. At most I have removed a custom grub parameter for the AMD 6650 not needed on the 2017 era Intel gpu. Or added it when going the other way.
Often when going from Nvidia to something else, those drivers need purging since they sort of take over things. But in this case you probably would have very poor on non-working graphics everywhere if they are not removed.
Some cards of any type might need some custom boot parameters (in grub), or existing ones you created for the previous card might have negative effects on the current one.
But of course more information and details would be handy........................But I sound like a broken record...............
