[LAPTOP] Switch to Nvdia GPU (GT 710M) with nouveau driver?

(Apologies in advance if this isn't the correct subforum for this)

I have a laptop with an Nvidia GT 710M. It's a bit old and AFAIK the official nvidia driver is not available for the current Linux kernel in Kubuntu 24.04 so I can't use the official driver, but I was wondering if it's possible to install the nouveau driver and make the laptop use the Nvidia GPU instead of the integrated GPU that it's currently using? I know that the performance might not be as good as using the official driver, but at least it'd use it because right now it doesn't even try to use it and I'd like the laptop to have the option to use since it has it.

    Thanks in advance

You already have the nouveau driver, it is included with the kernel.
You can try selecting the desired gpu in your laptop's BIOS settings, usually there is a section for that, though I imagine some might not.

I don't know if there is a simple switcher utility or system like there is with the proprietary drivers. I don't think there is.
