Need to Install ZWO ASI 533MC Pro Camera Drivers

I'm new to Linux, but not new to PC's by a long shot. I recently decided to try to breath new life into an older laptop by wiping out Windows completely and installing Kubuntu 24.04 LTS. Since then I've installed Bottles and setup the astrophotography program called N.I.N.A. NINA seems to run fine in the bottle on Kubuntu, however when I connect my astrophotography cameras & focuser via USB, none of them are recognized. The ZWO website states that native drivers aren't required for Linux users. They are required for Windows users. Since NINA is running in a windows bottle, I'm guessing that the windows drivers are needed as well. The ZWO windows driver file is a .exe file. I have no idea how to utilize the correct hardware drivers in Linux.

Since the main use for this old laptop was to manage my astrophotography software & hardware, I can't do much with it if the Linux OS can't connect to my cameras. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Software running in Bottles (wine) that requires Windows drivers may not work in Linux since the drivers are for .. Windows.

I am guessing that the camera is using a standard protocol that doesn't require any special drivers on Linux.

You'll need to seek what other people are using for Linux software or for any special steps they might need for this camera.

From a very quick browse EKOS and Kstars are the primary options, as would running windows in a virtual machine (virtualbox or VMware ) and passing the hardware to that.

Thanks for the reply. EKOS & Kstars aren't even in the same realm of performance as NINA and Stellarium. As to what else others are using; nobody I'm aware of who does serious astrophotography uses Linux. A quick search on the Cloudy Nights forum about Linux will support my claim. Since things are dynamic in software development, I was hoping Linux might provide a viable option in this area today. Thanks again.
