Sound issues with computer model: iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2014)

I installed Kubuntu 24.04 on my iMac (21.5-inch, Mid 2014) with a new solid state hard drive as the sole operating system. There is a problem with the sound,
1, every time it goes to sleep sound does not work after waking up, have to reboot to get sound back,
2, the left and right configurations are all off no matter which Playback Devices I choose in Audio settings. One side is very low in sound, one is high or goes to rear instead of one side etc.
3, the volume control does not work properly. I have tried several suggestions but nothing worked.

I don't see anything in the above computer specs regarding the sound hardware. At least try this in Konsole and post the output: aplay -l

You might consider running "sudo dmesg" and "cat /var/log/syslog|less" in Konsole and looking for entries referring to audio.

I found this with "sudo dmesg" [ 19.153851] Broadcom 43xx driver loaded [ Features: PNL ]
[ 19.188197] input: HDA Intel PCH Mic as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/sound/card0/input16
[ 19.191125] input: HDA Intel PCH Headphone as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/sound/card0/input17
[ 19.193946] input: HDA Intel PCH SPDIF as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1b.0/sound/card0/input18

With this "cat /var/log/syslog|less", it is endless, just keeps rolling.

I tried Debian and Ubuntu live, exact same problem. Anybody have any solutions for my Mac desktop?

FYI, Kubuntu is based on Ubuntu and Ubuntu is based on Debian so I wouldn't expect the results to vary.

I crawled the web a bit and this looks like a very common problem. The CS4208 just isn't supported, or at least not well.

              This might be a solution.

I also found this one but they are for Macbooks not desktops. Not sure if there is a difference. Yes not much support for Mac Linux. https://github.com/davidjo/snd_hda_macbookpro

Totally a long shot, but at least worth trying. If it doesn't work, or makes things worse (not likely), you can always undo the change.

I tried the github drivers, no sound now, cannot undo it. Do not understand the Ubuntu link instructions.

En tiedä miten tuohon ongelmaan voisi löytyä ratkaisu. Asensin 5 päivää sitten Kubuntun iMac ja kaikki toimii, ei ole ollut mitään ongelmia.

I don't know how to find a solution to that problem. I installed Kubuntu on my iMac 5 days ago and everything works, there have been no problems.
