[SOLVED] SOLVED Hauppage PCI tuner drops out.

I recently upgraded to Noble 24.04 from Jammy 22.04 and the Hauppauge quad PCI tuner drops out after about 1/2 hour or so.

I can bring it back online with this script I cobbled together from various sources on PCI issues, but it isn't a lot of good with a tv tuner set for automatic recording!

    Code:
    echo "1" > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:07:00.0/remove
    sleep 2
    echo "1" > /sys/bus/pci/rescan
    echo "2" > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000:08:00.0/remove
    sleep 2
    echo "2" > /sys/bus/pci/rescan
The system worked well for a couple of years on Jammy.

This is the result of a PCI scan:-

I know the system is getting a bit old, but it has worked well until Noble Numbat.
    Any suggestions very welcome.

I am big believer in the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" method. If there is no critical software needed in the new version then go with what works the old OS.

I agree but the problem I have found with that approach is that eventually support runs out and you are left with a vulnerable system with no updates and security holes. I use this machine as my everyday desktop as well as an HTPC. If it were a stand-alone HTPC I wouldn't care so much, it could be ten years out of date but not for my daily usage.

With the Ubuntu Pro extended support now available that is less of a worry for the next ten or so years, even with the standard support of five years you have until 2027.

I found a solution. The line
          Code:
          pci=noacpi
          In grub will sort this.

How do I mark it as solved? Not obvious.
