[SOLVED] Window position and size ignored

Q- Does anyone know why "Configure Special Window Settings" --> Size (Apply Initially) && Position (Apply Initially) doesn't work.

Since upgrading to Numbat, all these "Personalized" settings have disappeared. Task Manager or Taskbar, Windows Settings, No beeps & possible more"

Q- Why have these things be stopped ?
Q- What are we "Expected" to do from a KDE Point-of-View ? Downgrade to 22.04 ?
    Thanks

Kwin window rules do not work well in Wayland. So if you are using that, try logging in using X server for the first question.

In short and easy, the software that runs the displays. X is the older one, Wayland is the new rewritten version of X. You're most likely still on X with 24.04 but you can check what you're using by looking in the about this system dialog or putting the following into a terminal

        Code:
        echo $XDG_SESSION_TYPE

Just reading through the 22.04 Ubuntu upgrade Install guide... it reads the following.
          [HTML]https://wiki.ubuntu.com/NobleNumbat/ReleaseNotes/Kubuntu[/HTML]
          Plasma Wayland session
          • A Plasma Wayland session is available for testing by installing the plasma-workspace-wayland package, but is not supported. A Wayland session can then be started by selecting it at the login screen.
          So. I didn't select it.
I didn't even know until I read it in this thread, that Wayland even existed.
          &&
It's experimental. ...... So I would never use it....
          I like something that works.
          1. Turn PC on
          2. Enter password
          3. Start VM
          4. Check email
          5. Do Internet or Personal stuff
          6. Drink Morning Coffee
          7. Do more Internet or Personal stuff on PC
          8. Get another Cup of Caffine
          9. More Internet or Personal Stuff on PC
          10. Start Day.

          End work Day
