Star Trek Online stopped working, and nothing I try fixes it. The Cryptic launcher starts to load, and then the entire system freezes, requiring a reboot to unfreeze it. I want to see if the Cryptic launcher might be having an issue with Wayland. How do I switch back to the X server?

Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

You should just have to login using Xserver. On the SDDM Login Screen, in the lower left corner, click on Plasma (Wayland) and click on Plasma (X11).Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

I was going to ask how to make that permeate, but then I thought maybe the settings GUI would have a way, and I was right. I also discovered I was right about the Cryptic Launcher not working with Wayland. An internet Google search told me that those devs at NVIDIA don't allow the Ubuntu devs to make a hook into the GPU driver to give Wayland what it needs. Both Intel and AMD do. I got STO working again by switching the login to X instead of Wayland. Next time I have the money to spare I will get a AMD GPU. I hope Kubuntu keeps the option to switch between Wayland and X for a few more years.Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.

Now log out and reset are borked! If I try either one of them I get a blank screen and have to use my computers reset button. I tried recovery mode and fix broken packages and it downloaded several things but it is still borked. I tried booting the previous kernel but it is still borked. How do I fix this? I suspect SDDM or whatever is bad.Just to remind users and devs that Ubuntu and its flavors have a long way to go to be as usr friendly as they should be.
