Contiguous files are auto selected when deleting

As you can see in the attached image, when you delete one or more files or folders, the next or adjacent file or folder remains selected. I don't know if this is normal and happens to everyone, or maybe just me, or maybe it's a bug. The fact is that I would like that not to happen, and that after deleting a file or folder nothing would be selected.

    Greetings...

Yes, this also happens here in a vanilla Kubuntu 24.04 LTS installation - but not in e.g. openSUSE Leap with Plasma 5.27.9 and Dolphin 22.12.3

I doubt it will be fixed for Plasma 5.27.11/Dolphin 23.08.5 in Kubuntu though - perhaps it will be resolved by a future update from the Kubuntu Backports PPA.

PS: Good video to reconstruct the bug - this is how it should be done!

Def worth a bug report on bugs.kde,org.
Seems to be the same on Plasma 6. Can't tell if by design or not, but it doesn't seem like it would be.

Until now I thought this to be a Kubuntu 24.04 LTS "problem" only, because earlier in openSUSE Leap it did not happen…

Now I can confirm this behaviour for
          • Kubuntu 24.04.0 LTS with Plasma 5.27.11, Frameworks 5.115, Qt 5.15.13 and Dolphin 23.08.5 (like the OP)
          • openSUSE Tumbleweed with Plasma 6.0.4, Frameworks 6.2, Qt 6.7.0 and Dolphin 24.02.2
          • Arch with Plasma 6.0.5, Frameworks 6.2, Qt 6.7.1 and Dolphin 24.05.0.
          It does not occur in
          • Kubuntu 22.04.4 LTS (with the Kubuntu Backports and Backports Extra PPAs) with Plasma 5.27.11, Frameworks 5.104, Qt 5.15.3 and Dolphin 22.04.3
          • Debian 12.5 with Plasma 5.27.5, Frameworks 5.103, Qt 5.15.8 and Dolphin 22.12.3
          • openSUSE Leap 15.5 with Plasma 5.27.9, Frameworks 5.103, Qt 5.15.8 and and Dolphin 22.12.3.
Seems to be a regression - probably in Frameworks, Qt or Dolphin
