    JDownloader-snap

Hi. In some applications depending from I install them, the font is excessively small and I don't see a way to increase it. Sometimes simply changing Snap to Muon, it would install fine. But now with JDownloader by Snap it happens to me and I have not seen the option to make it by Muon. Any advice? Could it be something from openjdk-11?Thanks.

you should also have access to a flatpak version in discover as well, but a lot of the reviews talk about tiny font and a terrible UX, so i would not expect much different.

to access flatpaks from discover, if you haven't already done it, you can install the flatpak backend for discover and then you will have a toggle in the upper right hand corner to choose the source (native, snap or flatpak) if more than one source exists.

installing packages from muon or synaptic (my choice) should get the native version but sometimes it rolls over to snap anyway.

Thanks skyfishgoo. Well, I see that it is not only my problem, but the solution is still unsolved.... I have tried to install the executable for Windows and it looks much better, but you have to use Wine and it would be a patch nothing more. In Muon I have not seen anything about JDownloader, is there in Synaptic?

muon and synaptic would show the same thing as apt... there is no native ubuntu package by that name.

so your options are snap, flatpak or .exe (using wine)

you could try bottles instead of wine as it may proved better font support, bottles is available in discover as a flatpak

You can download JDownloader from Discover using Flatpak or Snap. To enable flatpak, open discover, go to settings and tick Flathub option. Restart discover and now it will show the flatpack programs versions. To increase the font in JDownloader program, open it, expand the window, go to settings > advanced settings and in the search type Font and look for LAFSettings.fontscalefactor . You can change it there. The default is 100. I change here for 150 and its look good. You need to restart JDownloader to take effects.
