    error: Creating temporary file

I am back with another pspp problem. Ordinarily, if I want pspp to write a new file, I just use a command like "SAVE OUTFILE="name_of_file.sav".
In the past few days, pspp programs are failing with
    Code:
    error: Creating temporary file
followed by the file name and a few additional characters.
As there have been no updates to pspp in the past few weeks, but discover sends me kubuntu updates almost daily, I assume something in kubuntu has changed. But I really don't know what to look for, let alone how to fix it.
I do know I have plenty of disk space, and the problem appears even if I limit the program to a small number of records.
    Suggestions?

are you using pspp command line or a GUI version from discover?

I guess you would say command line, as I am writing pspp code and running it interactively. (I want to have a record of my code because I need to be able to reproduce my calculations).
After due consideration, and daily reminders that kubuntu sends me, I decided to update to the latest (24.04) LTS version of kubuntu. This did not solve the problem, but I will move this discussion to the 24.04 subforum.
