Installing non-snap version of FireFox?

There is no icon that I can find?
There is no icon in the internet section of the launcher.
It is kind of like it has not been properly installed?

I downloaded this file firefox-124.0.1.tar.bz2
It is extracted, but I can't figure out how to install it.

I am stuck

Well, either follow the instructions on the Mozilla website or just use my script and choose [1] and it will download this Firefox from Mozilla.org and install it for you…
I can tell you that the latter will be much easier, if you are not used to installing things by hand including .desktop files etc.

All you need to know you can read following the link I gave you in post # 2.
I am more or less offline for some days now - good luck.

It looks like that worked and I now have an icon and was able it to the task manager.

Odd.
However, this sort of error is relatively common and well known, so fixing it is mostly copy-pasta easy:

The instructions from HERE:

1. Create a directory to store APT repository keys if it doesn't exist:
   sudo install -d -m 0755 /etc/apt/keyrings
2. Import the Mozilla APT repository signing key:
   wget -q https://packages.mozilla.org/apt/repo-signing-key.gpg -O- | sudo tee /etc/apt/keyrings/packages.mozilla.org.asc > /dev/null
   
   If you do not have wget installed, you can install it with: sudo apt-get install wget <----you probably not need to do this, it should already be installed>
3. The fingerprint should be 35BAA0B33E9EB396F59CA838C0BA5CE6DC6315A3.
   You may check it with the following command:

Looks good.

The warning can probably be ignored, the 'netbios name', is usually your hostname, which during the install bases it off the computer model or similar info. It can be quite long sometimes.
It might affect Samba browsing/sharing, so it might be worth it to change it:

to see what it is:
hostamectl or hostname

To shorten it down:
sudo hostnamectl set-hostname somethingshorterthan15charLoL

Then edit /etc/hosts in kate, kwrite, or your favorite text editor to reflect the change you just made

Run the hostname or hostnamectl command to verify the changes.

But, have you seen Mozilla's own apt repo?

Kubuntu Focus has a tutorial now how to use Firefox from Mozilla's repository and replace the Snap with it.

As written above: this might be a bit problematic when the Firefox Snap is additionally installed or/and when you release-upgrade to the next Kubuntu version (in certain cases it was and in others it wasn't in my tests)…
