    [SOLVED] Dolphin doesn't start anymore

    Hey there,

Dolphin doesn't start. There is a process running when I try, but nothing happens.

Starting from the console doesn`t work neither and there are no error messages. I deleted dolphinrc but no effect.

I don´t use dolphin very often, so I cannot say what I changed in my system. I installed a vpn yesterday but maybe the problem existed before this already.

This is Kubuntu 22.04 with all updates.

    Welcome.

    You could killall dolphin
and (additionally to ~/.config/dolphinrc) remove the file
    ~/.config/session/dolphin_dolphin_dolphin
    and the directories
    ~/.local/share/dolphin
    ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/dolphin

Then log out and in again and try if Dolphin starts now.

If it doesn't start, log out again and press e.g. [Ctrl] [Alt] [4] to log into tty4 and
rm -r ~/.cache/* (this is the "easy" way and also should work - but IHMO it would be better to remove your user's cache files from another user account with elevated privileges or from the root account)

Log out from tty4 (exit), press [Ctrl] [Alt] [1] and log into Plasma and try if Dolphin starts now…

Deleting all the stuff did the job, thank you very much!
