Lenovo System Firmware (Update to version 0.1.54) will not install, "The input is not of cabinet format". This has been around for a few weeks now. Any help will be much appreciated.

You don't say how you are installing the update, the machine type and spec and any other relevant details
However.
If you are downloading the ISO version of the BIOS update, you need to either write it to a DVD or a USB stick. After that you boot from the media you created and it should update the BIOS. On my Lenovo desktop I have to hit F12 to choose the temporary boot device.Constant change is here to stay! -
For example, my machine is an Ideacentre 510A-15ARR and the latest BIOS update for it is found here:

I selected the o4dj945usa.iso file and after download wrote it to a flash drive with Balena Etcher and rebooted to the drive I made and the BIOS updated from there.Constant change is here to stay!Comment
