sound issue acer chromebook cb5-132t when using firefox

Got a chromebook an acer cb5-132t tried different linux distros and got the same problem with them all.
i have installed firmware from mrchromebox and kubuntu 22.04 JJ as os.
works fine but when using firefox after a while something happens with firefox that seems to crash and a steady beeping sound occurs and closing firefox stops the beeping.
the same issue happens when using chromium webbrowser.
dont know how to find out the reason for this error if it is software or hardware related.
i hope some clever linux user can help me out here.

If you have already tried different Linux distributions (like: Fedora, openSUSE, EndeavourOS and Ubuntu-based ones like Kubuntu, …), which use different Linux kernels and different methods to install Firefox and Chromium (Snap and classical package management like apt, dnf or pacman) and the same errors always occur - I would guess:
the firmware you installed is the culprit or there are hardware related issues with this specific model (or some parts of the hardware of this specific computer are simply faulty)…
    Debian KDE & LXQt • Kubuntu & Lubuntu • openSUSE KDE • Windows • macOS X
Desktop: Lenovo ThinkCentre M75s • Laptop: Apple MacBook Pro 13" • and others

get rid of Snap script (20.04 +)reinstall Snap for release-upgrade script (20.04 +)
install traditional Firefox script (22.04 +) • install traditional Thunderbird script (24.04)

      Which different distros?

Chromebook hardware, being System-on-a-Chip (SoC) designs, don't always work in a plug-and-play manner like most PC and laptops,
The firmware from mrchromebox is a 'bios' firmware replacement or modification to allow multiboot on these devices, as the boot firmware is usually quite simple and basic.

The hardware on these Celeron Chromebooks (and the cheap Windows laptops that use the same platform) often need specific binary driver blobs for audio, and quite a few don't have sound on Linux at all, so you are sort of lucky, in a way, I think.
You are probably going to want to find a more Chromebook-centered venue, as this sort of thing is going to be too specific for this forum - I am probably the resident Chromebook 'expert' lol and I have no idea what would make web browsers do this.
Reddit is my suggestion for starters https://www.reddit.com/r/chrultraboo..._heres_a_vote/

My experienced guess is that you probably need a more cutting-edge kernel/driver sets and/or OS, and perhaps something not Ubuntu-based, for better hardware compatibility, depending on the exact model you have. There probably a number of different variants of this model over a few years, so it can be hiot or miss, though.

thanx for the fast answer regarding this explicit problem, yes i agree with your advice about this crapbook and i will let it run as it is and ignore the annoying sound as i will use it as a
        spare computer.

          That's no fun
Hopefully a small bit of investigation or asking around might reveal why you have this, and others don't.
