    How enable "suspend then hibernate" ?

    Hello.
    I view, for example, in debian kde, have the option "suspend then hibernate" and its good iddea, I search in google, but I don't view how enable this option in my Energy Options in kubuntu.

    You will need to enable hibernation In *buntu

    However, you do need to make sure your swap file or swap partition is large enough to support hibernation to begin with.
    A stock Ubuntu/Kubuntu install uses a small swap file.

      Thanks for the reply.

      I understand that, once hibernation is enabled, in power options, it will appear suspend then hibernate?

      I take advantage, this leads me to a question, is it better to create a swap file or a partition? Both options would be on the same disk, so I think one option or the other is irrelevant, but when in doubt, I prefer to consult.

        Yes, it should appear there as well as in the logout/shutdown options as well

        A partition is probably easier, especially if one dual boots different distros at all, Just use the same partition for all of them.
