[PLASMA 5] Error when installing global themes

    Hi!

Just installed Kubuntu on my daughter's laptop today and am seeing strange errors when trying to install themes.

First of all, I created a user for myself to act as admin during installation. When I login with that user, there is no issue. Installing global themes with the tool works without issues. It asks for the password once or twice, but everything runs smoothly.

However, when I log in with my daughter's account, that doesn't work properly. I get this kind of error:

    Code:
Installation of /tmp/OCWvAm-Sweet-Mars.tar.xz failed: Could not install dependency: 'kns://lookandfeel.knsrc/api.kde-look.org/1897311'
    Things I tried:
    • Setting my daughter's account as admin didn't solve anything. The error was still there.
    • After setting the admin permissions, I logged out her account and used my account to completely empty her user folder, thinking there might be some hanging setting in the files. Then I logged in with her account again and the error was still there.
Interestingly, after a restart, I tried to install a theme once again and now I get the error sporadically. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Like, even with the same theme. I try it once and it shows the error. I try another one, it works, then get back to the first one and it also works.

    Any suggestions?

The messaging is fairly explanatory, if you know what to look for. Global themes are just collections of individual components, and one of them is broken, not available, missing, etc, on the KDE Store.
Often this is a problem on the KDE Store's end, which might clear up later on, or not. Sometimes it might cause a bug in the get New Stuff tool in Plasma
You might be able to get around things by going to the store and grabbing the files from the item's page - the ID number at the end of the error can be used to search the store, if you aren't sure of the name:
    https://store.kde.org/p/1897311

Unfortunately, though it has improved a lot, the store has been having issues over at least the past year or so, it seems KDE inherited a bit of a mess .
