    No sound on Waterfox

I have been using Waterfox off and on to see if I want to replace Firefox snap with this. It has been working flawlessly for me until quite recently, when it stopped reproducing audio on Youtube. This first appeared on the GL 4 edition; I am now using the GL 5.0.1 edition, and it still doesn't play. Is there something new in Youtube which causes this? I've also had trouble getting Youtube to reproduce videos when using Slimjet, which is Chromium-based. Is there a workaround to fix these problems?

Waterfox works fine here. Might be worth doing a cleanup and trying a fresh browser profile, perhaps, with zero addons at the beginning, if you are running any.
Also look at your audio tray applet and make sure that the application is actually set to play through a specific sound device, if you have more than one. Drag-n-drop can fix that if it has moved to something you don't usually use.

I do this often enough, and accidentally send something to my HDMI-out, which goes nowhere

Otherwise, you probably need to contact these browsers' community forums and support areas if we don't have (many) users of those particular browsers here.

I tried this and other fixes suggested from various other sources, but nothing seems to work. So I guess I won't need Waterfox now.

if anyone is still reading this link, I can report that after upgrading to Kubuntu 22.10 I no longer have this problem. Was it Pulseaudio? Kinetic Kudu uses Pipewire, I believe.
