Writing to ZIP is not supported, Error writing to ZIP

    Hi,

after installation of Kubuntu 22.04 I cannot write files into ZIP

Krusader (when copying file into ZIP):

Writing to zip is not supported (the function writing to ZIP is enabled and everything worked great in 21.10)

Kate (when editing file from ZIP):

Writing to zip is not supported

VSCode (when editing file from ZIP):

Failed to save 'xxx': Unable to write file '/run/user/1000/kio-fuse-XKyIJh/zip/path-to-file' (Unknown (FileSystemError): Error: ENOTTY: inappropriate ioctl for device, close)

Will be great to get some help when solving this problem.

    Than you, Jan

I surf to the zip file with Dolphin and open it up with Ark. I click on the text file I want to edit and open it with Kate. After I make changes I click the save Icon. It asks me if I want to save the file to the archive and I answer yes.
I tried it on a Libreoffice odt file inside a zip archive. I clicked on the odt file and chose libreoffice writer to open it. I made some changes and clicked the save button. It asked me "The file ‘Dial 911 and Die.odt’ was modified. Do you want to update the archive?". I answered yes and the modified file was saved to the zip file.

This is exactly how it worked on 21.10 and stopped working on 22.04. This is related post: bugs_kde_org/show_bug.cgi?id=456348

When opening a file which is inside ZIP in krusader, e.g. because of editing, then it is not possible to save modifications because of "Writing to zip is not supported". This does not happen in Dolphin (which uses Ark to display files inside ZIP), or any other file manager like Double Commander, etc.

Enable write support (krarc ioslave) is enabled in krusader, latest version installed 2.8.0-dev
I see this back and forth in bug reporting all the time. The suggestion here is to install the dev version (until things get straightened out in the reg version)

Odd that krusader seems to muck up Dolphin. I am having similar issues as the OP (I run Neon) but simply installing krusader also breaks Dolphin opening archives as a folder (as I have set it to, instead of opening in Ark)

Uninstalling Krusader, seems to put things back to expected behaviors.
