Kubuntu 22.04.2 with kernel 5.19 released

If for some reason you want to use the LTS-kernel 5.15 instead, you have to (have) install(ed) Kubuntu 22.04.1 or Kubuntu 22.04.0 .
You can full-upgrade your system to Kubuntu 22.04.2 and the kernel will stay at 5.15 LTS.

On the other hand if you want to upgrade the kernel from 5.15 LTS to 5.19 you have to enable the hwe stack, which should be similar to:

Does this mean Ubuntu's devs will be responsible for vulnerability and bug patches? And if so will the 5.19 kernel be supported for the 5 years of 22.04 life?

Yes (and they always are for the Ubuntu kernels).

Probably 5.19 wil not be the last kernel for 22.04 - and here is one example how this works during the release cycles:
