Installation hangs on "downloading language packs"

I am trying to install Kubuntu 22.04 and it hangs on "downloading language packs", it downloads so slow it says it'll only finish in 5 hours. The skip button doesn't work and not ticking "download updates during installation" doesn't make it not download language packs. I have 300mbps ethernet.
    What should I do?

Make sure that you also haven't checked to download third-party updates as well. If both are unchecked, no downloading from the 'Net is performed during installation; it installs entirely from the media you are booted from.

Ok I tried again, I unchecked the option to install third-party wifi/graphics drivers and I unchecked download updates. It's still trying to download the language packs and it's hanging with thousands of minutes of predicted download time. The skip button still does not work.
I think it's trying to download from a local mirror that is unusably slow and has been for several days, I had Ubuntu installed a few days ago and downloading updates from my local Brazilian mirror took forever.
I am gonna give up on Kubuntu for now, too much headache. Might try it in the future.
