I installed Kubuntu 22.04 yesterday after I first used Ubuntu with KDE manually installed for half a year, I tinkered a bit too much in my previous install so I decided to start over.
Every other hour or so my laptop freezes and I only can just power it down with the button and then boot again. I can move my mouse and music keeps playing but the screen is completly frozen.
I have to study for my exams so this is a bit frustrating, I really like the KDE environment and working with linux, I'm an electronics student so I'm not a complete noob but this issue I just have no clue where to start. The logs show these 2 messages getting repeated a lot when a freeze has happened:
journalctl:
kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* flip_done timed out
kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* [CRTC:131:p ipe B] commit wait timed out
I off course googled the error, the most recent issue I can find tells me that it has been fixed by either installing a new Kubuntu version or by appending some lines tothe grub configuration or just implementing a workaround (script that logs out and back in and restarts all kde processes or something in that area).
Since it has been a couple of months since the latest post about it that I could find, I thought I would post it here, hopefully I missed a simple work around and somebody can free me from the misery
Thanks in advance and have a nice day!
