mktme message after dist upgrade kb 20.04 to 22.04 on dell xps

after performing an dist upgrade from Kubuntu 20.04 to 22.04, i am facing some message about mktme during boot up and shut down.

    Message:

kernel: x86/mktme: No known encryption algorithm is supported: 0x0
pci 0000:00:07.0: DPC: RP PIO log size 0 is invalid
pci 0000:00:07.2: DPC: RP PIO log size 0 is invalid

    In dmesg i found :
[ 0.101607] kernel: x86/mktme: No known encryption algorithm is supported: 0x0
    [ 0.101612] kernel: x86/mktme: disabled by BIOS

As i understand this is intel memory encryption. There is no such option in Bios and this has been no issue with 20.04.
Any ideas ho to get rid of this message ? I am not linux pro yet
    thanks in advance

When you were running 20.04, was it's installation done using encryption?

      See https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/x86/tme

Does your BIOS have a setting for enabling/disabling TME/MKTME? If it does, and it's enabled, try disabling it.

        yes it was encrypted

i could not find a setting in bios regarding it but i will check again

otherwise a clean fresh installation of 22.04 might help ?

          Same problem here!

There is no entry in BIOS for TME ot MKTME.

Unless you are experiencing some kind of issue with booting, logging in, or the DE (Desktop Environment) itself, you can ignore the message. There are all sorts of boot time messages, the majority of which are completely harmless. So unless you actually see an ERROR or WARNING message, don't worry about them.
