After upgrading from Kubuntu 21.10 to 22.04 I can not boot with the kernels 5.15 or 5.17. Booting my "old" 5.13.40 is ok. Also very strange: 5.17 as well as 5.15 seems to ignore the fstab entries. I have a "nofail" on some network NFS drives, but those kernels try to mount and give an error and then the boot process seems to stop and no GUI/Plasma is started. I can log into a console via Ctrl-Alt-F2, but being a user and no system guru I do not know where to look for. DMESG shows nothing to me...
