    Samba issue

    Hi!
I recently installed Kubuntu 22.04.1, previously I had Linux Mint 20 with Kde Plasma 5, but I wanted to try and test the new Kubuntu.
Everything is going great, except sharing folders using Samba.

I have done the same that I did with Mint, but it isn´t working. The Windows machines can "see" and access the resources shared from the Kubuntu machine, but not in the other way. I can see the Windows machines in the WorkGroup from Kubuntu, but when I try to access to them the system says that "the file or directory smb:xxxxx doesn´t exist", and the same when I use the Ip's of the Windows machines.

    I appreciate any help.

    Thanks a lot.

      Thank you Snowhog.
I've seen the post and I think my problem is different. I could "see" windows machines since the samba was installed, the problem is not the access from these machines, but the access from Kubuntu to Windows Pc's. Every time I try to access to the machines in the workgroup from my Kubuntu machine, system replies that there's no file or directory.

So. specifically, post #6 of the thread I linked isn't the issue for you; your settings are the same?

While not an answer, you could check out https://apps.kde.org/smb4k/

It's in the standard repositories, so you can install it via sudo apt install smb4k from the CLI.

Kind if sounds like the issue is a Windows setting, but that wouldn't make sense if it worked as-is with Mint.

You should attache your smb.conf and the one from your Mint install if you still have it.

                  Hi oshunluvr.
Thanks for the answer. I have not the smb.conf of Mint, because I had to reinstall due to a hard disk failure. I disabled antivirus and firewall in windows machines, but the result was the same, and there is no other change since Samba was working on Mint.
                  Here's my current smb.conf:
